Backstory

One of the many mammets lost during the calamity, TJ emerged from the rubble years later with a corrupted memory core and no recollection of what they had done before. She wandered through Eorzea until a help wanted sign caught her attention and she became fixated on the Plumburger Head Chef job at Junkdog Metalworks. Once she had firmly situated herself as a member of the workshop that would not be going away she was upgraded into a pawn class frame. Their permanent post is at the Metalworks, though sometimes she can be seen sneaking off for fishing trips with a certain Miqo'te...

Backstory

Flavien was born to a single Ishgardian mother and abandoned as her family felt an illegitimate child would hurt her reputation and chances at marriage. He grew up in the Brume with only a vague knowledge of who his biological parents were. As he became more aware of the disparities in the world, Flavien was left disenchanted with Ishgardian society. He had hoped for a better life in Gridania, but he quickly realized life was no better there.With very little else left for him, Flavien found himself drawn in by heretical philosophies. While he found theft and murder to be distasteful, his life in the Brume had taught him the necessity of such things.After a fateful misunderstanding in an Ishgardian bar, Flavien made the acquaintance of Siorc Fiadhaich. Despite their rocky beginning the two are in a happy, open relationship.

Backstory

Is’mhal had always been enthralled by the fish market, drawn in by each new fish he saw, bigger and tastier than the next. He dreamed of being on a ship and pulling in his own catch. While he ran into trouble in his teenage years, Is’mhal eventually came back to those dreams, even if it was in a rather unorthodox interpretation.As a member of a sky pirate crew, Is’mhal skyfishes to provide food for the rest of the crew as well as for his own enjoyment and money. His wild personality comes out in everything he does, his most daring conquest to date being when he lasso’d a Hybodus and rode it through the sea of clouds. He’s also never stopped dreaming. His current dream? Taking down the great white whale, Bismarck.

Backstory

A proud member of the Noykin tribe, Berke grew up in an accepting but hard environment. Her gender was never a problem, as even though The specific reincarnation of tribe members is a part of Dotharl culture, reincarnation is present through all cultures in the Steppe. The hardest part was learning to break beasts. Physical danger is always present and for the young and inexperienced it proves the greatest way to weed out those most suited to tame beasts.Berke was one of those suited to the tradition. She spent decades on the Steppe, training horses, breaking in the monsters of the Steppe for use in tests of strength, battle and farming. As the Steppe has begun to open out to the outside world, Berke has ventured out as well to provide for herself and her tribe using her skills. Why stop at beasts of burden when the Blood Sands in Ul’dah would pay handsomely for exotic beasts to set against gladiators?These journeys out to trade and secure contracts often took her to Kugane where she eventually met Bad Romance. The two hit it off as friends, then as business associates in co-owning the Lavender Lounge.

Backstory - Endwalker Spoilers

Haki was born in the mountains of Dalmasca, just a few years into their life the Garlean invasion uprooted their life. They grew up under the rule of the Garlean empire, a second class citizen subject to years of propaganda. When he was of age he was conscripted into the Garlean military. They served in an attempt to gain citizenship, with almost 17 years under their belt. The scar over the right side of their face was a souvenir from his time in service.That service came to an unofficial end when Anima tempered the Garlean people. Haki was one such tempered, and while he was lucky to survive the ordeal with his life, he was unlucky enough to evade capture well into the progression of his tempering. Though they were detempered, the physical transformation brought on by Anima’s influence on their either was a shock to Haki when he regained his faculties.His right arm (previously his dominant hand) was elongated, the hand warped into a claw, and his left hand bears an off color appearance. Hands seem to be raised into his flesh at his hips in a praying motion, while a clenched fist grasps at his own neck. His face was scarred and pulled, fangs erupting from the left side of his mouth while his right eye had changed color and the sclera had begun to blacken. While he was lucky to escape the ordeal with his life, it left him changed. It broke the propaganda filled hopes and opinions the Empire had impressed upon him. His physical appearance can be off-putting to others, and he tries his best to conceal the full extent of their changed body, though the discomfort and pain of being partially transformed is harder for them to hide.Now they’re trying to find themself, where they actually fit.- The hand on his shoulder has been surgically removed, leaving a scar and discolored skin.

Can You See? - Those with the Echo or particularly attuned to aether may notice the Astral (Chaotic/Dark) lean of Haki's soul, a lingering aftereffect of their tempering.Unnatural Appearance - Haki wears a mask and hides their right arm at all times in public, even while eating. Someone looking closely may notice a flash of teeth from under his mask while he eats or the color of his right eye through the colored lenses of his goggles.Garlean Deserter - Haki has a noticeable Garlean accent, having spent the majority of his life under the Empire's influence. Either Garlean loyalists or those harmed by the Empire may take notice.

Backstory

Built for subterfuge and infiltration by the Junkdog Metalworks, Rook excels in this area of work, able to craft and swap face and body plates as well as observe and copy the personality and actions of others. However, their moral compass leaves a lot to be desired, in part so that she is capable of the work she does. Following the death of its previous handler, Rook deemed the hit to morale that would come from the loss to be a detriment to others, and took over their handlers identity. They obscured the fact from the Metalworks and others for some time until he was found out. To prevent further incidents, Rook’s more humanoid frame was decommissioned. While it can still swap out faceplates, their legs give them away. Rook is currently meisterless and without a long term assignment.

Hey! That's Mine! - Rook has an unnerving and questionably legal past time of stealing faces and identities. Even if someone doesn't seem to be of note, or import, it can never hurt to have another face to make use of. Sometimes, Rook will choose to 'wear' a face out, just to try out and nail down the person behind it.For Hire - Rook can be hired to do just about anything you could ask a fucked up robot to do for work.
